...some sad news...

We have sad news: Bob Huber died on Thursday, after suffering a massive stroke (or something similar) Monday afternoon. Arrangements for his funeral are pending.

This Sunday is Consecration Sunday

Friends -- This is Consecration Sunday in our Saints Alive! Living Generously stewardship program. Please review the materials that you have been sent, pray about your giving in the next year, and plan to join us for worship. You will receive your commitment card for the June-May fiscal year, and be invited to complete it as an act of worship. We will celebrate communion, and will enjoy a free, catered Celebration Brunch after each service.

Neighborhood Involvement

Our church has been invited to participate in two neighborhood-oriented groups, and we are seeking people who would like to be involved:

Beardsley Historic District Group:  This newly-formed group focuses on matters relating to our church's immediate neighborhood:  the area bounded by the river, Christiana Creek, High Dive Park, and St. Paul's United Methodist Church.  The group's first event will be a clean-up of Beardsley Park (on the river, just across the street from our church) on Saturday, April 30.

Christiana Creek Coalition:  This group is focusing on cleaning up and promoting use of Christiana Creek between the Wellfield Gardens and High Dive Park.  Their next meeting will be Wednesday, April 27, at 5:30 p.m.

Would you be interested in participating in either group?  Please contact Steve Braden (264-3109; revsbb91@gmail.com).

Meet your new interim associate pastor...

The Rev. Nan Morgan Adams will start as our interim associate pastor starting April 1. She will preach at the Bridge services on April 3.

Nan comes to us with 18 years experience in the ministry beginning with work in the inner city of Atlanta, followed by 12 years as the organizing pastor for a new church development in Florida. Most recently Nan has served as the Interim Associate Pastor for Trinity Presbyterian in Pensacola, FL.

Nan is an avid reader of historical mysteries, a liturgical quilter, a Southern cook (Sweet Tea, grits and hand-made caramels being among her specialties), a photographer, and a mom of 21-year-old Morgan Adams, and three kitties (only two of which made the trip to Indiana.) Morgan lives in Ormond Beach, FL, with her fiancé and dog Bella and works at the retailer Big Lots.

Nan is excited about joining us. She will be the lead pastor for the Bridge and will focus on the areas of spiritual growth and missions, in addition to working with the deacons and Presbyterian Women and in other areas of ministry.
